I went to my last Police Job Attachment interview today and it was amazing. The two CIPs were foreigners and were really nice. Although I had to change channel and communicate in English, everything was great. The content of the interview was creative, interesting, different from the traditional interview procedures and absolutely not boring at all.
First, there was a self introduction, so that we can get to know more about each other. Then we were given questions to discuss.
1) What can the Police to enhance public communication?
suggestions: website, publications e.g. magazine, TV programmes
After this, there is a round of questions for everyone.
2) Decide the man power, costs and time for the project.
Technician from or outside the Force, costs maybe around $5000? Not sure.
the project should be on going but set up will take around 6 months.
A student was appointed to give conclusions.
3) Give 5 social aspects that affects how the Police Force operates.
1. Government Policies
2. Legislation e.g. computer crimes related Law
3. Tourism e.g. the Individual Travel Scheme => money laundering
4. IT e.g. virtual crimes, computer crimes
5. Population e.g the aging population
Lastly, was an individual meeting session. It felt scary at first, but believe me, meeting Inspector Mitchelmore and Inspector Tait was so much fun. They were kind and enjoyed reading my magazines and powerpoints. Moreover, they were pleased with my peparation work.
I will never forget the handshakes at the end. I have never felt so close to a police inspector before, they all seems so solemn and distant from the public......
